Welcome to WOMBS, we are glad you’re here!

White Owl Midwifery & Birth Services was opened in February 2023 by Cher Durham, CNM/WHNP-BC and her husband Chris McGrath, RN/CFRN.

White Owl Midwifery & Birth Services is available for all of your healthcare needs. We specialize in midwifery, birth, postpartum, women’s health, gynecology, menopause, sexual health, and basic primary care.
We provide appointments in a comfortable home-like environment that is consent-based, patient-centered, trauma-informed, & culturally competent.
We also provide care in your home and can schedule home visits that are convenient for you.

WOMBS PRESENTS MENOPAUSE MONDAYS starting 10/2/23. Menopause Mondays are special 1-hour appointments for women who are fifty years old and older. During your visit we will do a comprehensive health history and complete physical exam. We will then determine together, through shared decision making, what health screenings, labs, referrals or medications you may need. You will have adequate time to discuss your healthcare concerns and we will make reasonable & achievable healthcare goals together.
Once the initial visit is complete, follow-up visits will be tailored to what your individual needs are. These visits can be used for any other healthcare needs or concerns you may have.
We are out of network for insurance companies currently and will provide you with a Superbill at the end of your visit to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Appointment fee is $150/hour. We accept cash, check, & all major credit cards.
Give us a call for more information or to schedule your appointment. We look forward to caring for you.

Jackie Ryan
WOMBS Student Midwife, Birth Assistant & Placenta Encapsulator

Hi, I’m Jackie Ryan, USMC spouse of 10 years and mama to 5 beautiful baby girls. I found my passion for birth work after the birth of my first child and I absolutely love educating women on their bodies and the benefits of postpartum healing found through placenta encapsulation. I have had the pleasure of serving families in southern California, Okinawa Japan, and now in Eastern North Carolina. I spent most of my birth career as a doula, serving moms both during their labor and additionally postpartum through placenta encapsulation. I enjoy teaching birth education and supporting families any way I can throughout their birth journey. After 6 years in the birth work field as a Doula, I decided to pursue the CPM path and am now currently enrolled in the National Midwifery Institute with plans to graduate by the end of 2026!

Cassandra Ehntholt
Practice Administrator

Hi, I'm Cassandra! I am a PNW native with an addiction to saving way too many travel destinations and homesteading ideas on Instagram. My journey with Homebirth began during my pregnancy with my second son and continued on until the birth of my fourth son! My Husband was a true Birth Partner whose presence furthered my focus on the belief that all Mothers should feel they have a support system and are safe in their chosen birth space. Being an informed decision maker during the pregnancy for each of my four babies is where I found I thrived and made me realize I wanted to work for a Home Birth clinic so that I could help support other Mothers on their own journeys! Cher is a Midwife whose passion and care is undeniable. I’m incredibly grateful to be working for her and all the amazing Mothers of WOMBS!

Welcome to Neisha's corner of the birth world! As a DONA-trained birth doula since 2010 and recently recertified with Madriella in 2022, she brings a wealth of experience and passion to supporting birthing individuals and families. It was during her time in Norway that she had her first water birth, a transformative experience that ignited her passion for the midwifery model of care. She birthed two of her children less than a year apart in the same bathtub, further solidifying her commitment to supporting women through their birthing journeys. With six children of her own and over 20 years of experience in childbirth education and lactation support, Neisha is embarking on a new journey to become certified in placenta encapsulation, birthing assistance, and midwifery school.
