SERVICES

Midwifery Model of Care

The Midwives Model of Care is based on the fact that pregnancy and birth are normal life processes.
The Midwives Model of Care includes:
-Monitoring the physical, psychological, and social well-being of the mother throughout the childbearing cycle.
-Providing the mother with individualized education, counseling, and prenatal care, continuous hands-on assistance during labor and delivery, and postpartum support
-Minimizing technological interventions.
-Identifying and referring women who require obstetrical attention.

The application of this woman-centered model of care has been proven to reduce the incidence of birth injury, trauma, and cesarean section.

Jackie Ryan
WOMBS Student Midwife, Birth Assistant & Placenta Encapsulator

Hi, I’m Jackie Ryan, USMC spouse of 10 years and mama to 5 beautiful baby girls. I found my passion for birth work after the birth of my first child and I absolutely love educating women on their bodies and the benefits of postpartum healing found through placenta encapsulation. I have had the pleasure of serving families in southern California, Okinawa Japan, and now in Eastern North Carolina. I spent most of my birth career as a doula, serving moms both during their labor and additionally postpartum through placenta encapsulation. I enjoy teaching birth education and supporting families any way I can throughout their birth journey. After 6 years in the birth work field as a Doula, I decided to pursue the CPM path and am now currently enrolled in the National Midwifery Institute with plans to graduate by the end of 2026!

Cassandra Ehntholt
Practice Administrator

Hi, I'm Cassandra! I am a PNW native with an addiction to saving way too many travel destinations and homesteading ideas on Instagram. My journey with Homebirth began during my pregnancy with my second son and continued on until the birth of my fourth son! My Husband was a true Birth Partner whose presence furthered my focus on the belief that all Mothers should feel they have a support system and are safe in their chosen birth space. Being an informed decision maker during the pregnancy for each of my four babies is where I found I thrived and made me realize I wanted to work for a Home Birth clinic so that I could help support other Mothers on their own journeys! Cher is a Midwife whose passion and care is undeniable. I’m incredibly grateful to be working for her and all the amazing Mothers of WOMBS!

Morgan Mansuetti
Website / Social Media Manager

Hi! My name is Morgan and I am WOMBS newest Team Member! You may have noticed the changes on our Website or the new flow of our social media accounts - that is me doing my thing behind the scenes! I found Cher and her practice several months ago when I found out I was expecting my first child. I knew I wanted to have a Home Birth and after meeting Cher I knew I wanted to be involved in her practice. Being both an employee and a patient has given me an amazing opportunity to learn all I can about WOMBS and put that knowledge to good use when advertising and sharing information about what we do here. I am looking forward to my Home Birth in July, 2024 and excited to see how our team grows in the future!
